Web Design classroom

If you’re insatiably curious about new technology and also love visual design, Anne Arundel Community College’s Web Design program might be for you. Web Design is more than making pretty web pages. It impacts everything we do in modern society, from finding a job to planning vacation to choosing a school. At AACC, you'll be taught by working professionals to design those interactions and build beautiful, compelling and useful experiences for people. Your concept and ideas will be paramount as you learn all aspects of digital design. You’ll have the chance to intern, too, so you can build your skills and your résumé. By the time you finish, you’ll be ready to start a rewarding career or to transfer to a top four-year program.

Career Degree

AACC offers the following Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree that the state of Maryland refers to as a career degree intended to provide you with skills to enter the workforce. In some cases, AACC has entered into transfer agreements that allow these degrees to transfer to select colleges, which are noted in the description of the degree.

Web and Interactive Design, Visual Arts Professional, A.A.S.

You’ll get a solid foundation in design and art, while also learning how to create wireframes and design comps, to plan projects from concept to completion and to code and build websites from the ground up. You’ll also work on real-world projects with industry professionals. This degree is not intended for students who wish to continue their education; rather you’ll be ready for an entry-level position in this fascinating and important field.

Transfer Studies, A.A.

The Transfer Studies, A.A. allows you to explore different subjects or concentrate on a specific course plan that will best meet your in-state (and even some out-of-state) transfer goals. This option is particularly good if you are undecided in your ultimate career direction, not sure where you'd like to eventually transfer or just looking to complete general education requirements while "testing the waters" of a particular major.
