Provides in-depth experience in loading, configuring and maintaining UNIX operating systems. Focus on popular UNIX operating systems such as Redhat LINUX and SUN?s SOLARIS UNIX operating system. Learn theory and hands-on implementation of the boot-up and shutdown process, file system creation and structure, system maintenance and security, network file system (NFS), network information system (NIS) and UNIX IP network configuration and maintenance. Presents tools and concepts to become a junior-level UNIX system administrator. Lab fee $35. Prerequisite: CSI 135. Note: This course is equivalent to CyberWATCH course CW 241.
