BMI Mission Statement

The Black Male Institute is an organization that promotes brotherhood through building community, developing leaders and fostering fellowship.

The institute assists with the navigation of collegiate experiences through an empowered Black male perspective.

Through BMI, students may be able to:

  • Meet for 1-on-1 advising and mentorship with faculty/staff.
  • Attend monthly Rap Session forums.
  • Engage in BMI leadership retreat.
  • Participate in annual BMI Summit.
  • Enjoy fellowship at the annual cookout.
  • Understand life skills as they pertain to obtaining a degree and a professional career.
  • Gain the ability to mentor campus community peers through information and skills gained through BMI.
  • Increase your personal commitment to academics and gaining a degree, certification or transfer.
  • Network with AACC professional staff, administration and faculty.
