What is AACC's Visual Arts Portfolio Night?

AACC's Visual Arts Portfolio Night is an event open to the public where high school juniors and seniors, as well as current or prospective AACC students, can meet with representatives from various colleges and universities to discuss art and design programs. 

When and where is the event taking place?

The event is held every fall in the Cade Fine Arts Building at Anne Arundel Community College in Arnold. 

How do I get to the Cade Fine Arts Building?

We are located at:

101 College Parkway
Arnold, MD, 21012

Once you arrive on campus, follow the Portfolio Night signs to easily find your way to the event location. Our campus map is available on our Location and Maps webpage.

Is there parking available on campus?

Yes, free parking is available. You can park in Lot F in front of CADE. Look for Portfolio Night signs marking the way to the parking lot and building.

Can I bring both traditional and digital art portfolios?

Yes, you should bring your strongest traditional or digital art and design work, along with any questions about applying to programs, financial aid or preparing for art school. 

Can I show my work on an iPad or tablet? 

Yes, you can bring a tablet to showcase your portfolio digitally. 

How should I prepare before attending Portfolio Night?

In addition to your portfolio, come with any questions you have about applying to art programs, financial aid and how to best prepare for art school. 

Can I bring a friend or family member? 

Absolutely! This event is open to the public. Students, teachers, family members and friends are all welcome. 

Is the event open to high school juniors and seniors? 

Yes, the event is a great opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to explore art and design programs at various colleges and universities. 

Can prospective AACC students attend as well?

Absolutely, prospective AACC students who are interested in art and design programs are welcome to attend and learn more about their options. 

Are there any transfer opportunities with the participating colleges and universities?

Absolutely! This event is centered around portfolio reviews and transfer opportunities. In fact, some of the schools in attendance are AACC's transfer partners, so you can actively discuss transfer options during the event. 

Will there be other events going on in the Cade Fine Arts building?

Yes, there will be ongoing presentations from guest colleges and universities. In addition, the AACC Student Portfolio Showcase will be on display on the third floor of the building.  

Is the event only for students pursuing fine arts or are other art and design fields also included?

The event is open to students interested in a wide range of art and design fields, such as game development and digital design. It is not limited to the studio arts. You can inquire about programs in various art and design disciplines. 

Are there any costs associated with attending Portfolio Night?

The event is free to attend and does not require preregistration. 

Will AACC have a portfolio review table? 

Yes, the AACC Visual Arts faculty will be at a table to review portfolios and provide feedback.  

Can I get more information about financial aid and scholarships at the event? 

AACC Visual Arts advisors will be available to provide general information about visual art programs, including the necessary steps for financial aid and scholarship opportunities. 

What should I wear to Portfolio Night? 

Dress in a manner that's presentable and showcases your genuine interest in art and design programs. Business casual attire is generally a good choice but wear what makes you comfortable!
