Recognize the anatomy and physiology of the genitourinary system and the principles and procedures of the complete urinalysis. Topics include physical, chemical, and microscopic examinations of urine as well as other body fluids such as cerebrospinal, synovial, serous, seminal, amniotic, gastric, and fecal analysis. Learn Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988 (CLIA 88) Waived and Moderate test methods, specimen collection and handling, analyses, and correlation with disease states. Lab fee $170. Prerequisite: MLT 100 with a minimum grade of C or better or permission of the MLT Program Coordinator. Note: You must register for both MLT 101 and MLT 101LB.
