BIO-100 Introduction to Biology

Explore the science of biology; learn about the diversity of living organisms and their roles in various environments. Gain an understanding of cellular chemistry and genetics and how molecular biology and biotechnology are capable of changing organisms. Examine how ecosystems function and how global changes are impacting populations and biodiversity. Lab fee $45. Prerequisite: Eligibility for ENG 101/ENG 101A and either eligibility for any general education math or a score of 27 or better on the Arithmetic Placement Test or a B or better in MAT 005. Note: Students may not use this course to substitute for BIO 101. Credit is not given for both BIO100 and BIO 101. This course is for non-science majors only and may not be used as a pre-requisite for any other Biology course. This course may not satisfy requirements for entry into Health Professions related fields.
