Examine underlying principles of crisis intervention including situational crisis, developmental crisis, and special populations. Learn specific crisis assessments and case management techniques, and practice skills in interviewing, individual and group crisis intervention and counseling. Determine and apply professional ethics in hypothetical case situations. Prerequisite: Eligibility for ENG 101/ENG 101A, completion of HUS 114 or appropriate experience, e.g., employment that calls for interviewing and counseling or permission of department chair.
