Redefine yourself by completing one of the School of Health Sciences' programs, becoming eligible for a fulfilling career as a phlebotomist, medical laboratory assistant or medical laboratory technician.

A phlebotomist is a medical professional trained to draw blood from patients for various lab tests, transfusions, donations or research. With a letter of recognition from our Phlebotomy Technician program, you will have the qualifications needed to work in an array of settings including hospitals, clinics, laboratories, blood donation centers and doctors' offices.

A medical laboratory assistant (MLA) is a health care professional who supports laboratory operations by performing tasks related to specimen collection, processing and basic testing. With a certificate from AACC’s Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) program, you could work in hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, clinics and research facilities.

A medical laboratory technician (MLT) advances upon the credentials earned by medical laboratory assistants to serve as a degree-holding clinical lab technician. Medical laboratory technicians specialize in advanced analysis of samples through roles in blood banks, immunohematology, clinical chemistry and microbiology.
