World Cuisine and Culture Food Pantry Cookbook Event

Thursday, Nov 7, 2024 at 2:00 AM to 3:15 PM - Arnold - Humanities Building, Room 214

Service-learning students from Forrest Caskey and Amy Carattini’s World Cuisine and Culture course will share copies of their newly released pantry cookbook,

Over the term, students will reflect on dishes and foods that are of specific cultural or personal importance to them and conduct research into the historical and contemporary nuances of those foods. This coursework is done alongside a partnership with the AACC Student Engagement Food Pantry to understand local food insecurity issues relevant to our campus and our county. Students will then convert their family/personal/cultural dish into a recipe that utilizes ingredients found at the AACC Student Engagement Food Pantry and Hungry Harvest with a budget of $5 or less. At this event, grab a copy of the cookbook and enjoy samples of a few select dishes!

This event is a service-learning collaboration with the Sarbanes Center for Career and Civic Engagement and World Cuisine and Culture (HRM-232).
