We have a standard for excellence at AACC and that includes providing accurate and timely information to our customers regarding federal, state and institutional policies that allow them to pursue and finance their educational goals.

The Higher Education Act (HEA) of 1965, as amended by the Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA) of 2008, includes many requirements for disclosing information to the public; to current students and their families; to prospective students and their families; to university employees and prospective employees; to prospective student-athletes and their parents, guidance counselors and coaches; to college bookstores; to borrowers or prospective borrowers of education loans; to researchers; to policymakers; and to legislators.

To ensure compliance with federal HEA and HEOA legislation, the college provides the following links for easy access to helpful information:

  • Information about enrollment, transfer rates, graduation rates and crime statistics at AACC can be found by searching for Anne Arundel Community College at the IPEDS COOL database.
  • The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. The law applies to all schools that receive funds under an applicable program of the U.S. Department of Education.

Because of the nature of federal, state and institutional guidelines affecting financial aid programs, the information contained in this website is subject to change.
