Course development and recruitment of qualified instructors is ongoing in the School of Continuing Education and Workforce Development. We are actively seeking to fill the following positions; however, new courses are always being considered with an eye to potential demand, quality, cost and availability of facilities. All continuing education instructors are part-time, appointed for a specific teaching assignment, and salary will depend upon the nature of the course, your qualifications and experience, and the length of the course. Grades are not given in most noncredit courses, but attendance rosters must be kept. There are instances when a student has successfully completed or attained certain skills that lead to continuing education certificates, badges, or professional certifications.
Most noncredit courses range in length from two to 80 hours in multiple session formats. Some are held in designated facilities, but many have some flexibility in schedule and location, including off-campus location. AACC can also assist instructors in offering courses in an online format. Logistical support is available to you once your course has been accepted. For example, your program developer can order textbooks through the College Store, if required. Technology aids to assist in teaching as well as reproduction of course materials are also available.
