Instructions for Credit Students*
- Apply for admission to the college.
- Take an AACC Placement Test, if required.
- Submit all official transcripts to Records & Registration.
- Schedule an appointment with an academic advisor through OASIS.
- Declare an approved certificate or degree program with Records & Registration.
- Register for courses.
- Complete and submit the AACC Veterans Enrollment Verification Form, a Request for Change of Program or Place of Training (VA Form 22-1995 or VA Form 22-5495), and a copy of your Certificate of Eligibility issued from the VA, to the Financial Aid Office.
- Check MyAACC for updates, processing status and to confirm your program and run program evaluations.
*All AACC Associate Degrees and most Certificate programs are approved for VA Education Benefits. Please contact the Financial Aid Office if you are interested in seeking a Letter of Recognition.
Instructions for Continuing Education Student**
- Register for the approved Continuing Education course.
- Complete and submit the AACC Veterans Enrollment Verification for Noncredit Courses Form, a Request for Change of Program or Place of Training (VA Form 22-1995 or VA Form 22-5495), and copy of your Certificate of Eligibility issued from the VA, to the Financial Aid Office.
**AACC has a limited number of non-credit Continuing Education programs currently approved for benefits. Please inquire at the Financial Aid Office about specific programs of interest.
Important: Developmental courses such as MAT 010, MAT 011, MAT 012, ENG 001, ENG 002, RDG 027, and RDG 028 will only be approved for benefits IF they are required before you are able to register for the college level course. All courses must be taken in the classroom to be covered by the VA.
- Register early! AACC processing time may take up to 4 weeks during peak registration periods. VA processing time is at least 30 days.
- You must renew your benefits every semester by completing and submitting the AACC VA Enrollment Verification Form along with a copy of your Schedule of Classes.
- Be very careful to fill out all forms accurately and completely. Errors and incomplete paperwork will delay the process.
- Notify the Financial Aid Office of any changes made to your program or schedule.
- Check MyAACC regularly for the status of your enrollment.
