Hunter, an HVAC pre-apprenticeship student, embraced opportunities outside of the traditional college path and encourages others to consider trade school. The first step in joining a skilled trades program at AACC is to register for an information session.
People should realize that college isn’t the only opportunity for success. It’s OK to go to trade school directly out of high school. Looking back, I wish someone had told me about trade school. It’s such a great opportunity. This program has been nothing short of life-changing for me.
Enrolling in the pre-apprenticeship program was the best decision I ever made. The support and guidance from our instructor has been invaluable. His passion for the trade and ability to break down complex terms has helped me tremendously.
I was so excited about landing a job with an HVAC company during the program. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought this would come true. I’ll start on an awesome pay scale that has growth opportunities, a great benefits package, along with receiving a company car. I am excited about all the advancements.
(My advice is) don’t hesitate. Just bite the bullet. My experience has been amazing. Pay attention, listen, take notes and stay engaged.
